BARAHONA AERONAUTICAL TEST RANGE at María Montez International Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto Internacional María Montez) (IATA: BRX, ICAO: MDBH) is an international airport 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) north of the Caribbean port city of Barahona, in the Barahona Province of the Dominican Republic. It is named after the late film star Maria Montez, who was born in the province of Barahona.
The airport is on the coast, and east approach and departure are over the water.
It has the capacity to receive Jumbo 747, Galaxy C-5 and other wide-bodied aircraft in the 3000 x 45 meters virtually unused RWY. The overall weather is sunny and windy with few days a year. It counts with Jet A1, 100LL and unleaded 98 octanes MOGAS, besides a 5 MW's PV generation plant. The facilities include a CAT 4 SAR team.
Designated by Instituto Dominicano de Aviacion Civil (IDAC), Aeroproves Dominicana has an approved airspace of 4000 sq. NM for test flights from SPC to FL300 divided into 9 different areas so multiple aircrafts can operate at the same time
